PPFees — Independent PayPal Fee Calculators

Frequently asked questions

Does PayPal charge the same fee for every payment?

No. PayPal's US merchant schedule distinguishes Checkout, Goods & Services, standard card payments, QR payments, Pay Later, and other channels. Rates also depend on circumstances such as cross-border transactions and currency.

What is the difference between fee and effective fee rate?

The fee is a dollar amount. The effective fee rate divides the total fee by the gross payment. Fixed charges make the effective rate larger on smaller transactions.

How do I charge enough to receive exactly $100?

Use the reverse calculator and select the correct channel. It solves for the gross amount needed after both the percentage and fixed components, then checks cents rounding.

Can I deduct the fee from my listed price?

The calculator estimates the seller's net receipts. Whether and how to pass payment fees to customers depends on applicable rules, agreements, and laws; this tool does not provide legal advice.

Do international transactions cost more?

Many international US commercial payments have an additional 1.50% charge. Currency conversion can involve separate costs not included in the default result.

Are PayPal fees tax-deductible?

Business payment-processing fees may be deductible business expenses depending on your circumstances and tax rules. Consult a qualified tax professional for specific guidance.

Why does my actual PayPal statement differ by a few cents?

Rounding, fee categories, account terms, international status, and other transaction-specific adjustments can explain differences. Our estimates are not statements issued by PayPal.

Does PPFees store my payment information?

No account sign-in is required. Calculations run in your browser. Read our privacy policy for details about possible analytics or advertising integrations.

Is this an official PayPal tool?

No. PPFees is independently operated and not affiliated with PayPal.
